NOTE: This journal has been discontinued and has re-launched as the Journal of Software Engineering for Autonomous Systems. The Aims & Scope below was the Aims & Scope at the time that the journal ceased publication at the end of 2021.
The Journal of Automotive Software Engineering is dedicated to distributing research and industrial results in the field of automotive systems and software engineering, as well as overview papers in this area. With the advent of innovative software and electronics, automotive companies are applying state-of-the-art technologies to improve safety, driver experience and fuel efficiency. The increased use of software has caused a paradigm shift by requiring automotive companies to develop their systems while using architecture and model-based techniques. The subjects of interest to the Journal of Automotive Software Engineering cover the important aspects of the field such as automotive systems and software architectures, software process and quality, safety and security, autonomous and cooperative driving vehicle technology and intelligent transport systems. In addition to this, submissions on the development of, and challenges provided by, forthcoming and future vehicles, such as fully electric cars, hydrogen cars and solar cars, are also welcomed. The journal aims to be relevant for academia as well as industry.
