Ugliness appreciation
Sensibility - Abstract
From the edge to the center, ugliness has gradually established its position in the field of art after a period of secrecy. The transition from beauty appreciation to ugliness appreciation is the process of art shifting from rationality to sensibility. Ugliness appreciation shows the richness of the perceptual world, and people can see this negative thing. In addition, ugliness appreciation is not a product of today's society. From ancient times to the present, people have paid attention to “ugly” things. However, with different stages of social development and different ideologies, people naturally pay different attention to “ugliness”. This study mainly discusses the expression of “ugly” elements in Chinese and Western art works, as well as the philosophical thought represented by “ugliness”.
