Affected by the epidemic since 2019, the employment situation of graduates of various majors is severe, and sports majors are no exception. The employment rate has dropped significantly this year. This study takes students from the School of Physical Education of Yunnan Normal University as research objects, and mainly uses the questionnaire survey method to investigate students of three majors of the School of Physical Education of Yunnan Normal University in 2019 and 2020. The researchers analyzed the obtained data using SPSS 26.0 statistics, combined with literature research methods and mathematical statistics methods, and concluded as follows. In preparation for employment, students pay more attention to improvement of special skills and are also conscious of obtaining referee certificates. However, there is still much work to be done in terms of employment guidance, training, information transmission and help that the school can provide. Therefore, it is proposed to revise the “talent training plan” with special skills as the core and to do a good job of top-level design. According to the employment situation, do a good job of “demand mining and guidance” for special skills learning. It is also necessary to combine the implementation of the September 2022 version of the “new curriculum standards” to establish a mechanism to improve employability, improve comprehensive literacy, respond to changing situations, expand employment channels, and other suggestions.
