Athena International Publishing is active in its collaboration and education around accessibility. We continuously test and incorporate product feedback related to accessibility, supported by an extensive collaboration network including industry experts and people with disabilities. We also utilize industry-standard tools to develop products which meet and exceed the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.1 Level AA standard and future revisions. As such, we aim to create digital products and services which are:
- Perceivable. Information and user interface components must be presented to users in ways they can perceive. This means that users must be able to comprehend the information being depicted and it cannot be invisible to all their senses.
- Operable. The interface cannot require interaction that a user cannot perform.
- Understandable. Users must be able to understand the information as well as the operation of the user interface.
- Robust. As technologies and user agents evolve, content should remain accessible and compatible with a range of assistive technologies.
To this end, Athena International Publishing utilizes automated accessibility testing tools and manual testing methods while developing its products. Finally, we also strive to embed accessibility into our daily business operations as much as possible (e.g. through innovative use of new technologies and collaboration with industry experts and key stakeholders - including users with disabilities - to enhance our accessibility insights and capabilities).
